Tanzania the Island of peace in pieces----Part II

In part one, I explored Tanzanian Gen Z rising opposing the just ended elections marred with rigging resulting from long-time endemic and systemic maladies. Today, I’ll recap what’d have been done to avoid recent bloodbath in Tanzania based on the geopolitics, genesis, causes and effects, and what’d be done. Tanzania’s elections followed those in Botswana, Malawi, and Zambia that were clear, credible, fair, and free with desired results. The incumbents were floored.
There’s chaos in Kenya and Madagascar respectively where former survived after  an opportunistic opposition joined the rut to douse fire. In Madagascar, the president was pulled down after soldiers refused to receive and execute stupid orders from above. Realistically, Tanzania had three routes, namely, to do as Botswana, Malawi, and Zambia did or make a fatal decision through Cameroon route ending up stuck in and with the Madagascar route.
Like in Cameroon, the CCM’s been in power for over six decades of a potpourri. It fought for and brought independence, created a cohesive, stable non-ethnic, and united nation but sipped too much of power and created absolute power, which corrupts and deceives absolutely, which created the seeds of destruction within itself due to the monotony and monopoly resulting in aloofness and arrogance.
Howbeit, Tanzania’s autochthonal abuses, depravity, endemic debaucheries. For instance, public appointments depend on surnames, know whom but not knowhow.  Who’d stomach president appointing her son-in-law Minister for supervising elections? How’d such elections make any meaningful sense? Who’d love to hear president’s son being a link to all lucrative deals? That’s a root cause of troubles whereby the elite minority plunders and illicitly amasses wealth while the majority pointlessly suffers from their induced abject poverty.
Most victims are ambitious, daredevilish, educated, and energetic, but jobless and poor youths who aren’t blind or stupid to not see and understand the goings-on and thus, wave the bloody shirt. They’re portentously angry and hungry. Nevertheless, the CCM know their problems but placated them; failed to address and arrest them; and left  them grappling with hopelessness and vengeance. For such a ticking bomb, any attempts, change, or opportunity to yank or deconstruct power from powerholders, however dicey, is the only available means and option. They’ve nothing to lose except their chains.
Essentially, the CCM weirdly veered, stonewalled itself,  strangulated all sort of freedoms, and bunged the angers of its people leaving no room for venting.
Further, it injudiciously but injuriously ignored its critics and blindly and happily went to bed with duplicitous bootlickers and hangers-on. President Samia Suluhu Hassan was called Mama and received tons of PhDs from real and sham universities and fake accolades. Holy smokes!
Such thingamabobs captivated and intoxicated her and she cherished and relished such blatant lies and woefully authored her looming undoing.
Some foolish and myopic religious quacks equated her with Jesus and prophet Muhammad (SAW)! Those who know Julius Nyerere as is in his way for beatification couldn’t believe how judicious and lucid people could commit such a sacrilege. Samia too didn’t reckon with lies and misleading intentions. Others went way too far alleging that Samia is Godsend!
Essentially, Tanzania’s problems emanate from within. Firstly, when the CCM backed a stringent and workaholic outsider, John Magufuli in 2015, it blindly set itself in the collision course that left it bungled, injured, and moribund. Magufuli, the bulldozer, bulldozed its traditional networks and webs of eaters and movers.
After his  sudden and saddening death, the party was irredeemably fractured and fragile in the hands of cagey antagonistic, individualistic, opportunistic, and squabbling players. Unwary, the CCM created a potpourri of looming dangers. Magufuli gone, his confidants who, most if not all, were outsiders were purged. This created and courted acrimony and vengeance.
Of all palpable victims is former CCM Ideology and Publicity Secretary and Ambassador to Malawi and Cuba, Humphrey Polepole, resigned and returned home with one mission, to revenge by spilling the beans up until he’s abducted and his whereabouts aren’t known. Polepole got the ball rolling, His exposes weren’t only daring and damaging but were religiously believed at face value. Instead of seizing this opportunity to seek to know how much Polepole knows, the CCM floundered and squandered this opportunity.
To cap it all, it recently declared a Samia ‘winner’ with 100% minus two! How’d one garner such a mindboggling percentage amidst chaos as we evidenced many voting stations being attached and vandalised? This was the first election to yield results since before then, elections used to take almost a week to offer results.
In a word, Tanzania was, and sadly, still is ripe for unrests shall all enumerated anomalies go be poo-poohed and unattended. The jury is still out. Thus, what those who haven’t faced the wrath of the browbeaten must quickly change.
As for Tanzania, it can still pick pieces and move on. Shall political hanky-panky we evidence prevail, Tanzania will remain a powder keg that’ll explode even more than we saw recently.
Beware. I smell the domino effect everywhere. I understand. The CCM and Samia have been badly injured. Keep your cool and bite the bullet. Understandably, the overtouted hypnotic myth of peace has been demystified. Nonetheless, pick pieces and move on. Those who haven’t yet felt the wrath of the downtrodden must quickly change.
