Leave Tanzania out of Kenya’s upcoming election

  

              Recent damning allegations made by Majority leader Aden Duale that the NASA has established a pony-trekking center in Tanzania are shocking. Up until now, I don’t know the rationale behind such jaw-dropping allegations; made without being substantiated. On 12th March, 2017, the Daily Nation quoted Duale as saying that”it is outrageous that a top Cord leader, who has been at the forefront of claiming that Jubilee would rig the elections, is linked to repeated attempts to infiltrate the IEBC database through hacking.” Thereafter, on 7th May was videotaped alleging that the center for hacking was established in Tanzania http://www.nation.co.ke/video/1951480-3917548-1gka5pz/index.html 
            Although such murky and toxic allegations were aired on a political rostrum, Jubilee needs to know the type of the country they are dealing with. We all know that the president of Tanzania, Dr. John Magufuli, is the personal friend to NASA’s flag bearer, Raila Odinga. However, personal friendship has nothing to do with national issues. Again, why did Duale make such damning and unsubstantiated allegations? What are likely to be the effects and consequences of such allegations? Why such careless allegations are made at this time the relationship between Kenya and Tanzania is a wee bit frosty? is there what's cooking many Kenyans do not know? Suppose Tanzania takes such allegations seriously?
            Swahili sage has it that “akumulikaye mchana, usiku hukuchoma” or he who shines lights on you during the day, torches you at night (my translation). I don’t want to believe that Jubilee is that desperate so as to smudge the image of the country resulting from its grudges and vendetta. Is there any bad blood between the Jubilee government and Tanzania? Is there any big bone to pick with Tanzania? Is such a move psychological preparations for unexpected come August? There are many more questions than answers so to speak.
            Now, what should be done? The NASA must ask Duale to substantiate his allegations before Tanzania does so. So, too, Duale should be squeezed to know if such allegations are personal or his party’s position vis-à-vis such criminality that aims at impairing democracy in Kenya which is not only treason but also espionage. It is not a small thing for a foreign country to abet with whoever that wants to superimpose the president to another country. currently, the US is at loggerheads with Russia after it came to light that Russia meddled with the 2016 US elections in which the person sought to be in cohort with Russia, president Donald Trump (Republican) defeated his challenger Hilary Clinton (Democrat).  Again, why will Tanzania need to superimpose its choice for president on Kenya in the first place?
            Knowing how a no-nonsense Magufuli is, I doubt, if something is not done, the relationship between Kenya and Tanzania is likely to take a hit. To avert such an enigma, president Uhuru Kenyatta and Jubilee need to tame its loose cannons. To dispel the ruckus Duale’s misguided allegations can cause, Kenya needs to come clean on them forcefully and timely. As a Tanzanian who believes in the oneness and the unity of Africa that unfortunately is amiss, I’d like to see Kenya and Tanzania coming together but not to be torn asunder. Again, with such patterns and practices Jubilee is applying without clearly considering the timing and reasoning are likely to affect not only Kenya and Tanzania but the entire region. If Duale has lost his marbles, he should not only be tamed but also openly reprimanded for attempting to poison the relationship between the duo pointlessly. I would argue that Duale needs to avoid the generalisation of the genre of politics in that the way it is conducted in Kenya it is completely different from how it is done in Tanzania.
            In a nutshell, Jubilee needs to understand that Kenya is bigger and more important than a mere political outfit. Healthy relationship between Kenya and Tanzania is more important than power Jubilee is seeking to retain. Therefore, instead of using smear campaigns and scare politics, Jubilee needs to put its house in order instead of looking for farfetched pretexts shall anything happen in the coming elections.

Nani anakumbuka mauji ya kipumbavu kama ya Mvumi?

Tukio la kusikitisha la kinyamana na kipumbavu lilotokea Oktoba 1, 2016 huko kijijini Iringa Mvumi lilistua na kuchukiza wengi ukiachia mbali kwa taifa. Wataalamu wawili wa  Udongo na dereva wao toka kwenye kituo cha Seliani mkoani Arusha waliuawa eti kwa kudhaniwa ni wanyonya damu au mumiani.  Hii maana yake ni kwamba bado tunajenga taifa la watu mbumbumbu, washirikina na wakatili wanaoweza hata kuondoa uhai bila kujiridhisha kuwa kile wanachoshuku ni kweli au siyo. Tukio hili lilitangazwa na kulaaniwa nchi nzima wakati ule. Hata hivyo, baada ya kujitokeza upungufu wa namna hii kwenye uelewa na imani za wananchi wetu, wahanga walizikwa na huo ukawa ndiyo mwisho wa habari yao. Hatujui nini kilitokea kwa familia za wahanga kuhusiana na stahiki zao kama mafao, fidia na mengine kama haya. Leo kwa makusudi mazima, tunajikumbusha tukio hili la kikatili na kutisha lau kukumbushana kama jamii na taifa ili kuepuka kurudiwa mahali pengine nchini.
Kwanza, tunajitahidi kuvaa viatu vya wahanga au wapendwa wao kuona nini tungetaka tufanyiwe baada ya kukumbana na mkasa kama huu ambao bila shaka mwenye kulaumiwa ni serikali kwa kutowaelimisha watu wake vya kutosha ukiachia mbali kutokuwa na mfumo wa haraka wa mawasiliano ambao ungeweza kuepusha vifo hivi vya wataalamu na hasara ambayo taifa lilipata tokana na ujima na upumbavu huu.
Ni bahati mbaya kuwa wahanga wa kadhi ahii walikuwa wakipambana na kutumia ujuzi wao kuwasaidia hawa hawa waliowaua kutokana na hisia na imani za kipumbavu. Ni hasara na unyama kiasi gani? Tunashauri serikali ieleze namna ambavyo ilizifidia familia za wahanga wa ujinga wa taifa unaotishia kuliteketeza taifa letu. Kama haijafanya hivyo, tunaandika kuikumbusha wajibu wake hasa ikizingatiwa kuwa wahanga waliacha wapendwa wao waliokuwa wakiwategemea.
 Inashangaza kuona baadhi ya watu wetu wakishabikia na kushiriki mauaji ya kujichukulia sheria mikononi kama vile kuchoma moto vibaka wakati wakiabudia na kuvumilia mibaka mikubwa tu. Lazima tuseme wazi kuwa kosa hili si la wauaji wa Iringa Mvumi pekee bali taifa kwa ujumla hasa wale walioteka uhuru wetu na kuwajaza watu wetu ushirikina na ujinga. Kusema ukweli, tuna mfumo mbovu wa kishirikina na kipumbavu ambapo matapeli wachache huruhusiwa kuhubiri sumu ima kupitia dini au uganga wa kienyeji. Rejea mauaji ya mara kwa mara ya watu wenye ulemavu wa ngozi.
Je sasa nini kifanyike? Tutaotoa baadhi ya maangalizo hapa ili kuepusha kurudiwa kwa aibu na unyama huu ambavyo ni pigo kwa taifa:
Mosi, wataalamu au watu wetu wanaoingia kwenye maeneo mageni ima wapewe ulinzi wa askari au waruhusiwe kupeperusha bendera ya taifa kwenye magari yao. Kwani, watu wetu wamezoeshwa kuogopa bendera kama alama ya serikali.
            Pili, wananchi wetu waelimishwe namna ya kuheshimu na kutumia sheria. Inasikitisha kuona kwenye karne ya 21 bado Tanzania ina watu wasiojua hata namna ya kuripoti matukio au watu wanaowashuku hadi wanajichukulia sheria mikononi kama ilivyotokea hivi karibuni huko kwenye kijiji cha Iringa Mvumi mkoani Dodoma.  Jambo linaloonyesha kuwa tumefika pabaya sana kimfumo na kijamii ni ile hali ya serikali kuchukulia mauaji husika kwa wepesi sana. Kama ingekuwa inachukulia kadhia kama hii kwa uzito, tungesikia lau bungeni suala kama hili likijadiliwa na wabunge ili kuangalia nini kifanyike. Wahanga wa Iringa Mvumi wamesahaulika; na hakuna anayewaongelea ili kuepusha kadhia kama hii kutokea tena nchini.
            Sijui kama waziri wa mambo ya ndani analo tena kwenye kumbukumbu zake hasa wakati huu mauaji mengine kama yanayoendelea Kibiti yanaposhamiri. Vinginevyo, tungesikia lau wamepewa hata nishani au zawadi za utumishi bora katika mazingira hatarishi ambayo yaliwagharimu maisha yao. Lazima wahanga wakumbukwe kwa namna ya pekee. Kwani walikufa kazini wakitekeleza kauli ya “Hapa Kazi Tu” ya rais John Magufuli ingawa hakuliona hilo. Namuuomba na kumshauri rais aliangalie hili kwa uzito wa pekee ili kujua namna familia za marehemu zinavyoendelea.  
            Mwisho, katika kuwakumbuka wahanga wa Iringa Mvumi, serikali iangalie namna nyingine ya kukomesha kadhia hii ni kwa serikali kuwachukulia hatua watendaji wake waliowezesha kujengeka mazingira ya uhasama na kutoaminiana miongoni mwa wanakijiji uaji ambao inasemekana walishachoshwa na mauaji yanayodaiwa kutekelezwa kwa maagizo ya mwanakijiji mwenzao aliyekuwa akilindwa na wakubwa wilayani Chamwino kama gazeti moja la kila siku lilivyofichua. Hawa walipaswa kuwa korokoroni huku uchunguzi wa kina ukiendelea ili kupata ufumbuzi wa kudumu.   Hii ndiyo namna ya pekee ya kuwafariji jamaa za marehemu na kuwaenzi marehemu waliokufa kutokana na ujinga ulioachiwa kutamalaki nchini ukiachia mbali imani za kishirikina ambacho ni chanzo kizuri cha mauaji haya. Hivi kweli Tanzania bado kuna mumiani katika karne ya 21? Ni aibu kiasi gani!

Handcuffed President: Fall from Grace


When former South Korean president  Park Geun-hye allowed her office to be used by a close friend as a money minting and printing factory, she did not know that, in the end, her end would be unceremoniously ridiculous at it turned out to be. Now that her dirt linens are in the agora, Geun-hye is behind bars waiting for the court of law to decide her fate. The following photos shows her in cuffs as she appears before the judge. If convicted, Geun-hey, may spend the lest of her life behind bars. Had she been an African president, she would have been enjoying the yum yum that power offers. Nobody would bother her simply because she is the member of  the class of a few sacred cows. What a turn of events! When will Africa decorate corrupt rulers with hand cuffs given that it has a lot of them either in office or retirement.

Kuuawa Lowassa na Magufuli Gwajima achunguzwe

            Kwa waliobahatika kusikiliza mahubiri ya wiki iliyopita ya “mchungaji” Josephat Gwajima, walishangaa sana. Pamoja na kujulikana namna anavyojitahidi kutumia madhabahu kufanyia siasa, alichosema kwenye mahubiri ya wiki iliyopita–kama vyombo vya usalama havitayafanyia kazi–basi taifa letu linapelekwa pabaya.             Katika mahubiri haya Gwajima anasikika kuwa kuna watu wana nia mbaya na Tanzania wanaolenga kumuua waziri mkuu mstaafu Edward Lowassa. Anaendelea kusema kuwa hao anaowajua Gwajima wakishafanikiwa kumuua Lowassa, wapenzi wake watasema aliyefanya hivyo ni Magufuli. Hivyo, wapenzi na marafiki wa Lowassa watamuua Magufuli.  Kwanza, ukiangalia dhana nzima unapata shaka na uhalisia na ukweli wake.
            Kwanza, unajiuliza, inakuwaje Gwajima ajue mpango huu tena unaohusu kuondoa maisha ya kiongozi wa nchi asipeleke kwenye vyombo vya usalama mara moja kabla ya kutangaza na kuwastua wahusika kama kweli madai yake ni ya kweli?
            Pili, kwa wanaojua namna Gwajima alivyotatanishi hasa kujulikana wazi alivyomuunga mkono Lowassa halafu akajitahidi bila mafanikio kumuepuka, anaweza kusema hata kuzua lolote ilmradi apate hadhira na kujiweka karibu na watawala.
            Tatu, kwa waliofuatilia vita yake na mkuu wa mkoa wa Dar Es Salaam, watakubaliana nasi kuwa Gwajima amekuwa akijitahidi kusema maneno yanayolenga kumpendeza rais bila mafanikio. Amejitahidi kujionyesha kama mtu anayelipenda taifa lakini akashindwa kuonyesha kwa vitendo hasa ikizingatiwa kuwa kazi ya kuhubiri anayofanya imejaa utata kama madai ya kufufua watu, au yeye kupooza na kupona kwa maombi akionyesha alivyo na nguvu za ki-Mungu ingawa kitendo chake cha kuzungukwa na mabaunsa na kuwa na bundiki kinakinzana kabisa na anacholenga kuiaminisha jamii.
            Nne, tangu atuhumiwe kujihusisha na biashara ya mihadarati, Gwajima amejitokeza kama mtu anayejitahidi kumshauri rais kiasi cha kutia shaka kuwa kuna kitu nyuma ya pazia kinachomhangaisha kiasi cha kutaka apate sikio la rais.
            Tano, kuna swali moja kubwa la pili licha ya lile kwanini Gwajima hakuripoti kwenye vyombo vya usalama juu ya hatari dhidi ya uhai na maisha ya kiongozi wan chi ambalo ni je tumpuuze Gwajima au tujiulize imekuwaje ajiamini kama hajui kitu? Je Gwajima ni mshirika katika mipango hii michafu dhidi ya viongozi wa nchi? hata hivyo, Gwajima ana bahati. Kwani, ni Tanzania pekee ambapo mtu anaweza kutoa madai makubwa kama haya akaendelea kuwa uraiani akipanga mengine.
            Sita, kama nilivyoeleza hapo juu, Gwajima anajitahidi kufanya siasa kwa mgongo wa madhabahu jambo ambalo ni kinyume na mazoea na sheria za Tanzania vinavyokataza kuchanganya dini na siasa ingawa watawala wanafanya hivyo, kwanini hakemewi au kuna wanaomtuma ili kuongeza umaarufu kama si kuiondoa jamii na hadhira kwenye mambo muhimu kama vile kashfa iliyofichuliwa na Mkaguzi na Mdhibiti wa Fedha za Serikali (CAG) inayowagusa wakubwa? Je kuna anayemtuma Gwajima au anajituma; ili iweje na kwanini na nini matokeo ya mchezo huu wenye kukera na kila aina ya uchafu?
            Je Gwajima ana mizigo inayomsumbua ukiachia mbali kutuhumiwa kujihusisha na mihadarati kama vile kumilki mali zisizo na maelezo zilivyopatikana? Kuna haja ya serikali kuwapa wananchi maelezo juu ya watu wanaoamka na kutoa madai makubwa na ya ajabu ambayo yanaweza kuyumbisha taifa.
            Katika kumtambulisha Gwajima tumeweka mabano kwenye cheo cha mchungaji kwa makusudi mazima hasa ikizingatiwa kuwa cheo chake ni cha kujipachika, jambo linalomnyima uhalali wa kutumia cheo hicho. Tumalizie kwa kumshauri Gwajima yafuatayo:
            Kwanza, kama madai yake ni ya kweli, aeleze ni kwanini hakutoa taarifa kunakohusika tena haraka alipogundua huo mpango mchafu kama ni kweli na upo.
            Pili, aache kumdhihaki rais wala kumhusisha kwenye harakati zake za kutaka umaarafu.
Tatu, achunguzwe si akili tu dhamira ya kutoa madai  kama haya kama hatayatolea ushahidi unaoingia akilini huku akieleza ni kwanini hakutoa taarifa kwenye vyombo na taasisi husika.
            Nne, achague moja kati ya kuhubiri dini au kufanya siasa ili ajulikane yuko upande gani. na hili kwake ni rahisi. Ana wafuasi tayari na fedha. Hivyo, anaweza kuunda chama badala ili aone mikiki ya siasa badala ya kujificha nyuma ya majoho.
            Nne, afahamu kuwa, kwa nafasi yake yenye kutia tata, hawezi kuheshimiwa na jamii na watawala sawa na wale waliopata uongozi wa kiroho kama vile shehe mkuu na muashamu kardinali na viongozi wengine wa madhehebu yanayoheshika ambao mara nyingi hujitenga na siasa na wanapotoa matamko huwa na mashiko.
            Mwisho, tunaiasa serikali isikali kimya madai mazito yenye kuhusisha viongozi wazito wa taifa kama haya. Hivyo, Gwajima abanwe aeleze anachojua, alikijua lini na nini uhusika wake. Kama ni gea ya kutafutia mlo na umaarufu vile vile ijulikana ili aonywe au kufunguliwa mashitaka ya jinai kwa kutaka kuyumbisha taifa na kuvuruga amani na mshikamano wa kitaifa. Pia achunguzwe kama sifa za kutenda miujiza anazodai kuwa nazo anazo kweli. Na kama hana, leseni yake ya kuhubiri ifutwe kutokana na kupotosha umma.

Fisi anapochunga kondoo wa Bwana

 
            Japo vitabu vya dini vinatuzuia tusihukumu ili tusije kuhukumiwa, kuna wakati mwingine hakuna namna bali kuhukumu. Mlevi siogopi kuhukumiwa hasa ninapowahukumu wanaopaswa si kuhukumiwa tu bali kuchomwa moto. Wasichojua wengi ni kwamba dhana nzima ya usihukumu ili usihukumiwe ilipenyezwa kwenye vitabu husika na wakoloni wa kiutamaduni ili tusiwahukumu wao hata walipoturarua kama fisi wafanyavyo kwa kondoo hivi sasa chini ya kivuli cha uchungaji, uaskofu, unabii na madude mengine.
            Tukio la kutia kinyaa na kuamsha hasira lililotokea kwenye wilaya yeye jina kama Korogwe ukiondoa ‘O’  mbili na kuweka ‘A’ kwenye mkoa ulio jirani na kaya inayotawaliwa na imla mmoja kwa zaidi ya miaka 30 aitwaye M7 hivi karibuni, limenifanya nirejee kuandika masuala ya dini ambayo mara nyingi huwa sipendi kuyaandika bali kwa kulazimika. Katika taarifa toka kwenye gazeti moja la kila siku, ni kwamba mchungaji sorry mchunaji mmoja aitwaye Jaff Jose wa Kanisa la Huduma katika Kristo, aliamua kumuiba muumini wake aliyetajwa kwa jina la Domie  Domitie akidai alioteshwa na Mungu kufanya hivyo! Hivi kweli hili ni Kanisa la Huduma katika Kristo au kanisa la Hujuma kwa Kristo? Upuuzi mtupu. Mungu gani akuoteshe uzini wakati anakataza uzinzi? Ujinga mwingine unatia kinyaa.
            Pamoja na wahusika kusukumwa na ujinga na tamaa, kuna somo kwa kaya yetu kuwa tumegeuka kaya ya hovyo ambapo kila tapeli anaweza kuja na kuwabamiza mkenge walevi chini ya kisingizio cha kuhubiri neno la Mungu. Kaya yetu imebariki utapeli na ujinga huu ambao matapeli sasa wameugeuza chanzo cha utajiri wa kutisha.
            Kuhusiana na kadhia tajwa, ni bahati mbaya mwandishi aliyeiripoti hakufanya kazi yake vizuri. Kwani, pamoja na kupata majina ya wahusika, alishindwa kutaja kijiji au mji lilipotokea tukio hili la kishenzi na kishetani linalopaswa kulaaniwa huku mhusika akipaswa ashitakiwe kwa kosa la kubaka ili aozee kifungoni. Hata hivyo, tokana na wepesi wa mitandao ya kijamii inayoshutumiwa na watawala, tuliweza kupata jina la kijiji ambacho kinaitwa Nyabwexxx kata ya yenye jina kama mtoto wa ng’ombe. Bahati nzuri mkuu wa wilaya hiyo, Godfrey Mheruyyy aliamua kuingilia na kuamuru mhusika achukuliwe hatua za kisheria. Wapo wanaoweza kusema kuwa sakata hili si kosa la jinai. Ila ukiangalia mbinu ya kuoteshwa aliyotumia mchunaji kumshawishi muathirika wake, alichofanya hakina tofauti na kulazimisha ambako ni mojawapo ya sifa zinazokamilisha kosa la ubakaji.
            Je kama jamii tunao akina Josie wangapi wakiwahadaa akina Domie wetu wajinga kuwa wanawapa huduma ya kiroho wakati wakiwatumia kwa hujuma zao za kiroho? Je tutaendelea kuwa na upuuzi huu hadi lini? Hapa tunaongelea wachunaji waliojipachika uchungaji. Hatujagusia waganga wa kienyeji ambao wengi wao wanasifika kwa kuwabaka na kuwaibia wateja wao wajinga na washirikina sawa na wachunaji wanaojipachika vyeo vya kiroho wakati hawana chochote bali uroho. Hawa wanajifanya wana roho mtakatifu wakati wamejaa roho mtakakitu.
            Hawa wanaojipachia vyeo utawajua kirahisi. Wanapenda utajiri wakati Mwana wa Adam wanayemhubiri aliuchukia. Wanapenda sifa hadi kujipachia udaktari wa ajabu ajabu ilmradi waonekane wamesoma hata kama wengi wao ni vilaza na vihiyo walioghushi na kujipachia vyeo vya kidini na kisomi kama ilivyo kwa wengi. Wanapenda sifa kiasi cha kutumia mitandao, runinga, magazeti na kila liwezekanalo kutangaza biashara yao. Sikumbuki Mwana wa Maria akitangaza huduma yake. Kumbuka mtu aliyemponya ukoma. Kwa furaha alitaka kwenda kuwatangazia wenzake. Lakini Yesu alimkataza kufanya hivyo Luka 5:14. Hii maana yake ni kwamba Yesu hakupenda sifa. Alitaka ukweli ujitangaze wenyewe. Je hawa wanaotangaza hujuma yao kwenye vyombo vya habari tena kwa kuanzisha au kulipa mamilioni ya fedha, kwanza wanapata wapi? Je wanategemea kupata nini? Je hiyo pesa wanaipata wapi?
            Tokana na dini kutumika kuwaibia, kuwadhalilisha na kuwadhulumu watu wetu wengi wajinga, kuna haja ya kuibana sirikali kupiga marufuku uanzishwaji wa biashara hii ambayo sasa imegeuka tishio hasa wakati huu kaya inapopambana na tishio la ukimwi na umaskini ukiachia mbali ujinga. Tutaendelea kuwatoa sadaka walevi kwa mapapa na manyangumi wa utapeli wanaotumia neno la Mungu hadi lini?
            Matukio ya wahalifu wanaojipachika uchungaji kuchukua wake za watu, kutia mimba waumini wao hata kutorosha wake za wenzao yanazidi kuongezeka kayani huku sirikali ikiyafumbia macho. Je tunangoja walevi wajichukulie sheria mkononi kwa kuwachoma moto wahalifu hawa halafu tuanze kuwalaumu? Sidhani kama ni jambo jema kwa kaya kutaka watoa huduma nyingine wawe na taaluma ya huduma wanazotoa  lakini wakawaacha wachunaji na waganga wa kienyeji kuendelea kuharibu jamii yetu. Haiwezekani tuhakiki vyeti vya wahudumu wa umma lakini tuwaache hawa na wenzao wanasiasa akina Bashite wa Bashiit wa Koromija. Ni hasara na majuto kiasi gani kujikuta umemuamini shetani ukidhani ni malaika? Mchungaji anapogeuka mchunaji, kondoo wakae chonjo.

Is Trump’s move an accidental suicide?

            The news that the you-are-fired maharishi, president Donald Trump fired the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), James Comey was not only a bombshell that tremulously caught many Americans and the world at large off guard.  Many wondered why Trump took such a an ill-advised move which is with committing hara-kiri if not seppuku for Trump.  Again, the adage has it that arrogance always bears the seeds of destruction within itself that ends up killing it.
            Comey is credited to have helped Trump to clinch US presidency in late December last year when he reopened the investigation on Trump’s competitor, Hilary Clinton just 11 days before election day which had never occurred in the history of the US.
            After dislodging Clinton, Trump showered Comey with accolades saying that he’d regained his credibility. This is after Comey had reported that the FBI was investigating team Trump vis-à-vis collusion with the Russians to distabilise and prejudice democracy in the US.
            Now that the emperor has no clothes, firing the head of the organisation that is believed to investigate the president, indeed, sans doute, Trump’s pulled the trigger that’ll put his presidency to rest shall an independent investigation to look into the matter be formed. Arguably, Trump’s move isn't only seismic but also it is tsunamically going to cause a lot of problems for Trump administration. Without pontificating, some big cheese in the US called his move Nixonian in that it is a typical replica of what former US president Richard Nixon committed by firing the leader who’s investigating him in 1973 which culminated in his impeachment. Ironically, while Comey is believed to have been investigating Trump, he, too, is under investigation in connection with why he took  an avant-garde decision against Clinton.
            The firing of Comey has received mixed feelings from those feeling hard done and those whose Comey’s unconventional decision benefited.
            Although Trump has tried to portray himself as good deal maker, this time around, he dealt a  death blow to himself by taking untenable and deeply discombobulating move to fire Comey whom on 29th October, 2016 he praised for “having a lot of guts’ by which he reopened investigation against Clinton at the eleventh hour that, by and large, hugely contributed to her loss and to Trump’s feat.
            Congressional Minority Leader Chuck Schumer called Trump’s move a “cover up” that analysts think is likely to backfire if not ricocheting. For, Schumer called for an independent investigation to be formed to look into the matter.
            Since Trump took the helm, he’s been so controversial that it becomes difficult to enumerate his hullabaloos. Some of us think he’s gone nuts. Fascinatingly, Trump said that he fired Comey for being mean to Clinton which many analysts rubbished. This caused the red mist to descend so as to cause a lot of anger to many Americans especially the pro-Clinton. Being in the cockpit of the hubbub, Trump seems to care less thinking that he’ll unscrupulously navigate US’s business the same way he’s manipulatively navigated his controversial business empire.
            Again, why did Trump fire Comey? Nobody can tell exactly why. However, knowing Comey’s “lots of guts” fearlessness and integrity, some say, Trump is afraid that Comey would repeat if not reciprocating what he did to Clinton vis-à-vis investigation allegation that there were Russian collusion in tilting the results of the last year elections.  
             Now the die is cast. Again, how’ll this imbroglio end? Who knows? Maybe, just maybe,  it’ll end with Trump proving right Allan Litchman, the guy who  rightly foretold his victory as well as his fall from grace after being impeached. Will it avert what Harry  C. Blaney who called Trump a “mortal danger for the US and the world”? Who knows? Is the danger getting too close?

Magufuli asipuuzie shutuma za Kenya dhidi yake

            Hivi karibuni, mara mbili bila kuthibitisha madai yake ya ajabu, kiongozi wa walio wengi kwenye bunge la taifa, Aden Duale, alikaririwa akiishutumu Tanzania kutaka kuingilia uchaguzi wa Kenya unaotarajiwa kufanyika mwezi Agosti mwaka huu. Duale alikariri akisema kuwa chama chake cha Jubilee kina taarifa kuwa Muungano wa Upinzani nchini humo ujulikanao kama National Super Alliance (NASA) una mpango wa kuunda kituo cha kudungua taarifa za uchaguzi ili kumpendelea mgombea wake Raila Odinga ambaye ni rafiki wa rais John Pombe Magufuli. Gazeti la kila siku la kiingereza la Kenya la Daily Nation (May 14, 2017) liliandika “wakati wa kumpitisha  rais Uhuru Kenyatta naibu rais  Uhuru Kenyatta  kama wagombea wa Jubilee,  kiongozi wa walio wengi kwenye bunge la taifa Aden Duale alidai kuwa serikali ya rais John Magufuli ilikuwa imejitolea kuwa mwenyeji wa kituo sambamba cha upinzani cha kukusanyia kura.”
            Hata kama kweli Tanzania ingejitolea kuwa mwenyeji wa kituo tajwa, bado sheria ya Kenya inayotokana na hukumu ya hivi karibuni ya mahakama nchini mle, inaruhusu upinzani kukusanya matokeo yake ili kuepuka wizi wa kura. Hata hivyo, hili ni suala la ndani ya Kenya hata kama lipo kisheria ingawa ni tuhuma za hovyo, zisizo na mashiko.
            Tuhuma hizi mbali na kuwa za ajabu na kubwa, si za kunyamazia hasa ikizingatiwa; zinaweza kuathiri mahusiano ya mataifa haya mawili jirani yenye kutegemeana kwa mambo mengi. Hivyo, Magufuli na serikali ya Tanzania, rasmi waitake Kenya kuthibitisha au kuondoa madai yake huku wakiomba msamaha kwa Magufuli na Tanzania.
            Hakuna ubishi. Uhusiano wa Kenya na Tanzania si mzuri. Hii ni baada ya Kenya kutaka kutumia kivuli cha mgongo wa Jumuia ya Afrika Mashariki (EAC) inazozikutanisha nchi tano za ukanda huu zikiwemo nchi mbili tajwa. Hivi karibuni, kulikuwa na vuta ni kuvute kuhusiana na kusaini mkataba wa kibiashara na Jumuia ya Ulaya (EU) ambao ulipingwa vikali na Tanzania huku ukiungwa mkono na Kenya kwa sababu ya kutaka kulinda mahusiano na maslahi binafsi.
            Pili, kuna suala la nchi rafiki na jirani ya Uganda kukatiza mkataba wa kupitisha bomba la kusafirisha mafuta yake kwenye nje kupitia Kenya na badala yake kuamua bomba husika kupitia Tanzania. Si hilo tu, historia ya Ukanda huu haiwezi kukamilika bila kugusia kuuawa kwa Jumuia ya Afrika Mashariki ya Kwanza (EAC 1) ambayo ilikuwa na wanachama watatu yaani Kenya, Tanzania na Uganda iliyouawa mwaka 1977 baada ya Uganda–chini ya Idi Amin wakati ule–na Kenya kuihujumu na kuisababishia hasara kubwa Tanzania.
            Pamoja na hasara kubwa, Tanzania iliamua kusamehe na kuacha yaliyopita na kuganga yajayo. Lakini hali ilivyo, inaonyesha; bado Kenya wana ngoa  ya kihistoria ambayo mbali na mambo yaliyotajwa inatokana na kukataa kuunganisha nchi za Afrika Mashariki kuwa taifa moja. Hii ilitokana na hali ya Kenya kujiona kama iko mbele na mbali kuliko Tanzania jambo ambalo halina mantiki hata kidogo hasa ikizingatiwa; nchi zote mbili ni maskini zinazoishi kwa kutegemea wafadhili ukiachia mbali kukumbwa na matatizo mengine kama vile uchumi mdogo, ukosefu wa ajira, ongezeko la watu, majanga ya kijamii, kuwa nyuma kiteknolojia na kimaendeleo na mengine mengi yanayozikumba nchi changa.
            Kitu kinachoshangaza na kuchukiza ni ile hali ya kudai kuwa Tanzania ina mpango wa kuingilia na kuvuruga uchaguzi wa Kenya. Ili iweje na ipate nini? Kenya wanapaswa kuwa wakweli kuwa hali ya kisiasa cha muungano tawala wa Jubilee ni mbaya kutokana na kushindwa kutekeleza ahadi ulizotoa; kushindwa kupambana na rushwa hasa wizi wa fedha za umma; unyakuzi wa ardhi; kupanda kwa bei za mahitaji muhimu na maisha kwa ujumla; na kukabiliwa na vita nchini Somalia kati ya mengi mengineyo yanayolikabili taifa hili.
            Tunasema; Tanzania isipuuzie tuhuma hizi hasa ikizingatiwa; akumulikaye mchana usiku hukuchoma. Pia inabidi ifahamike; kwa muungano wa Jubilee, kubakia madarakani kwa mbinu zozote ni bora kuliko maslahi ya taifa. Rejea namna tamaa ya madaraka ilipolitumbukiza taifa hili kwenye mauaji ya kikabila ya wenyewe kwa wenyewe almaarufu kama Post-Election Violence (PEV-2007) yaliyosababisha vifo vya zaidi ya raia 1,000 wasio na hatia.
            Badala ya Tanzania kunyamaza na kupuuza madai ya Kenya, iionye, na kutaka iyafute na kuomba msamaha huku muungano wa Jubilee na Kenya kwa ujumla zikiaswa zitatue matatizo yake ya ndani badala ya kutafuta visingizio. Je muungano wa Jubilee una mpango wa kuvuruga au kuiba uchaguzi kama ulivyoshutumiwa kufanya kwenye uchaguzi wa 2013?
            Muhimu, Tanzania iueleze ulimwengu; haina maslahi yoyote katika kuvuruga uchaguzi wa Kenya hata kama mgombea mmojawapo ni rafiki wa rais wa Tanzania. Mbali na hilo, Tanzania iionye Kenya kuacha kufanya chokochoko ambazo matokeo yake si mazuri kwa ukanda mzima.
            Tumalize kwa kushauri hekima na busara kutumika kwa pande mbili hasa ikizingatiwa kuwa unaweza kumchagua rafiki lakini si jirani. Bado nchi hizi mbili zinahitajiana hata kama zitakuwa chini ya serikali isiyotokana wala kuundwa na muungano wa Jubilee. Kenya ni zaidi ya Jubilee, Magufuli, Odinga na Kenya. Mungu ibariki Afrika.

Kijiwe: Wachunaji Wachague Dini au Siasa

            Kijiwe cha leo kinajikita kwenye mambo ambayo wengi huogopa kugusa hasa wakiwa si wanachama wa chama twawala. Hii si jingine bali kuzuka kwa mtindo wa baadhi ya matapeli kujiita wachungaji wa kondoo wa Bwana wakati ni wachunaji. Wanajiita viongozi wa kiroho wakati ni viongozi wa uroho. Wanasema wana roho mtakatifu wakati wana roho mtakakitu kama yule aliyemchukua mke wa kondoo wake akadai shetani aliyemtuma ni Mungu wakati yeye ni shetani mwenyewe.
            Mpemba leo ndiye anaanzisha mada. Baada ya kuamkua na kubwia kahawa yake anasema “ hivi wenzangu waona niyaonayo mie tokana na huu upuuzi uloanza kuzoeleka wa wachunaji kujifanya wachungaji huku wakitoa matamko ya kisiasa kukutana na viongozi wa vyama vya kisiasa kana kwamba na wao ni wanasiasa?”
            Mbwa Mwitu anajibu “unashangaa wachunaji kujiingiza kwenye siasa! Kwani hujui huko ndiko ulaji rahisi na wa dezo uliko? Hujui kuwa ukiwa mwanasiasa unaweza kuitumia kuchuma na kufichia njuluku zako?”
            Mgoshi Machungi anachomekea “hii kwei. Tinawaona wakigombea uishiwa na uhishimiwa huku wakijiita viongozi wa kioho badaa ya kujiita viongozi waroho wanaotumia neno la Bwana. Hukumuona yule mama kihiyo ajiitaye daktari alivyoula uishiwa wa dezo hivi karibuni baada ya kutimuliwa da Sofi?Utawaona wakijikomba kwa wenye ulaji wengi wakiandaa mikesha na matamasha ya kuiombea kaya wakati kuomba kwa kwei kwapaswa kuwa sii ya anayefanya hivyo na Mungu wake.”
            Kanji leo hangoji. Anakula mic “ sasa dini na ombaomba nakuwa biasara. Kila siku iko ona vatu najitokeza ombea kaya. Naombea kaya kwani nakufa? Baniani hapana ombaomba. Yeye nafanya biasara na kuchomwa moto kama nakufa.”
            Msomi Mkatatamaa anaamua kutia guu na mapema “nimependa analogue yako Mpemba. Kweli hawa ni wachunaji si wachungaji. Ni maaskopo na si maaskofu. Wanamilki mimali kibao isiyo na maelezo ukiachia mbali kutia kila aina ya shaka ya namna walivyoipata kama siyo kuwaibia kondoo au kuuza mibwibwi.”
            Kabla ya kuendelea Mipawa anampoka mic na kusema “ usemayo ni kweli. Huoni wengi wengine wavyoingia kwenye ligi na akina Bashite baada ya kuwaibua huku wakijitahidi kujifanya wanampenda muungu wake? Sijui hii vita nayo imeishia wapi? Maana sioni mapapa yakibakuliwa. Au ilikuwa ni nguvu ya soda kama siyo danganya toto ya kutaka misifa ya kibashiteshite au kuficha kashfa ya kughushi?”
            Da Sofia Lion aka Kanungaemba anakula mic “nakubaliana na wote wanaowaona hawa kama wachunaji waliomweka Mungu wa kweli kando kwa kumuabudu muungu wao yaani fedha na utajiri wa haramu na haraka. Nadhani kuna haya ya sirikali kuwabana waeleze walivyochuma huu utajiri ili kuepuka hatari ya kuwa na wauza unga waliojificha nyuma ya majoho na mimbari.”
            “Tuwe nao mara ngapi wakati tunao tena wengi tu. Kwa vile kaya yetu ni ya kishirikina na kibabaishaji, kila tapeli anaweza kuja na lake na kufanikiwa. Huoni namna kuombea kaya kulivyogeuzwa dili la wachunaji wanaoibukia kujiweka karibu na lisirikali ili wapate sifa na ulaji. Kila siku kuombea kaya. Mtafanya kazi lini? Acheni ujinga. Nenda kafanye kazi kwanza. Hata kauli mbiu ya rais wenu ni “Hapa Kazi Tu” lakini siyo “Hapa Kuomba Tu,” anajibu Kapende huku akimpa kipisi cha sigara kali Mijjinga anayempoka mic na kusema “hakuna kinachonikera kama watawala wetu kukumbatia wahalifu hawa. Sijui lao moja au nao ni sawa na wale kondoo wanaochunwa na kuraruriwa kila siku? Maana sioni mantiki ya wao kuendelea kuwaendekeza wahalifu kama hawa ambao mwisho wake wataangamiza kaya yetu. Hata Yesu alisema kuwa mchovu hataishi kwa mkate tu. Kuna haja ya kuibana sirikali ili nayo iwabane hawa wana hizaya wajalaana wanaofikiri kwa matumbo badala ya vichwa.”
            mheshimiwa Bwege aliyekuwa akisoma gazeti anaamua kutia guu. Anasema “mie sishangae huu ubwege unaofanywa na hawa mabwege. Kama kaya imejigeuza ya mabwege kwanini mabwege wasijifanyie ubwege watakavyo kiasi cha kuhatarisha usalama wake? Kama kaya inatawaliwa na akina Bashite huku wakikingiana vifua kwenye uovu, unataka hawa matapeli wakale lupango wakati mabwege wa kuingiza mkenge ni wengi? Hamkumsikia bwege aliyemchukua mke wa bwege mwenzie akidai eti kaambiwa na Mungu wakati ni ushetani mtupu unaotokana na ujuha, ubwege na utapeli wa kiroho unaotawaliwa na roho mtakakitu aitwaye mtakatifu? Wajinga ndiyo waliwao; waliasa wahenga. Japo hawa mabwege wanakera, hakuna namna ya kuwakomesha bali jamii nzima kubadilika ikaacha ushirikina na kutegemea kupata bila kutoa jasho wala kutumia akili na maarifa.”
            Kabla ya kuendelea mzee Maneno aliamua kumchomekea na kusema “mheshimwa Bwege hapa umeua kila kitu. Ni kweli sisi ni kaya ya mabwege tunaopaswa kubadilika. Vinginevyo huu utapeli usingeweza kufanikiwa kama jamii yetu isingekuwa ya kibwegebwege. Nakubaliana nawe; hawa si viongozi wa kiroho bali waroho tu wenye roho mtakachafu.”
            Kijiwe kikiwa kinachanganya si akaja mchunaji akijifanya anataka kutulisha neno. Acha tumlishe mingumi kabla ya ndata hawajaja kutibua move yetu.

TPSF mnamuonea Magufuli bure

          Malalamiko ya Taasisi ya Sekta Binafsi Tanzania au Tanzania Private Sector Foundation (TPSF) ya hivi karibuni kuwa serikali inaminya sekta binafsi hayana msingi. Mtendaji mkuu wa TPSF Godfrey Simbeye alikaririwa na vyombo vya habari akisema “ni makosa kufikiri  hivyo kwani wafanyabiashara ni injini ya kukua uchumi na wao ndio wenye uwezo wa kufanya mambo mengi na kwa wingi wao huleta tija katika uchumi husika.” Hakuna asiyeelewa hili.  Hata hivyo, sidhani kama dhana hii ina mashiko; hasa ikizingatiwa kuwa biashara ni uwanja wa mashindano makali. Ni sawa na mashindano ya ngumi au mpira au michezo au sekta nyingi nyingine zenye ushindani wa hali ya juu. Bila kujiandaa, anayeshiriki haya mashindano ataishia kushindwa. Na hiyo ndiyo kanuni ya mchezo.
            Sidhani kama sheria ya Tanzania inazuia ushindani, uwe miongini mwa watu binafsi au baina yao na serikali. Asiyependa wala kuuweza au kuukubali ushindani ajiondoe kwenye biashara na kufanya shughuli nyingine badala ya kulalamika. Kwanini kuwa na ushindani kwenye sekta nyingine na iwe sawa lakini iwe tatizo inapokuja kwenye biashara ambayo asili yake ni ushindani?
            Kwanini kujali maslahi ya wafanyabiashara huku tukidharau au kukandamiza ya walaji ambao wengi ni watanzania? Mfano, kwa mujibu wa rais John Magufuli, ujenzi wa hosteli za Mabibo uligharimu shilingi bilioni 28 zaidi ya miaka kumi iliyopita, wakati hosteli za sasa za Chuo Kikuu zilizojengwa na Tanzania Buildings Agency (TBA) kwa jumla ya shilingi bilioni 10 tu. Rais alisema kuwa aliamua kuwapa TBA tenda ya ujenzi wa hosteli husika baada ya makampuni mengi kuja na qoutations za juu hadi bilioni 150. Hatuwezi kuendeleza business as usual huku tukiumiza uchumi na watu wetu eti kwa kulea sekta binafsi. Ushindani kati ya serikali na sekta binafsi si jambo baya kama lina tija kwa taifa. Hapa kwenye mkoa ninakoishi, serikali ina nyumba za kupangisha na ni za bei nafuu. Pamoja na hili, sijawahi kusikia wenye nyumba wakilalamika kuwa serikali inashusha bei na kuwanyima biashara. Hapa wanapenda na kukubali ushindani kama chachu ya kutoa huduma bora na nafuu kwa jamii. Hivyo, sekta binafsi ya Tanzania inapaswa kujifunza na kulikubali hili.
            Biashara yoyote inalenga kumpa faida mwenye kuifanya au kuianzisha. Hivyo, wanaotaka kujenga majengo ya serikali wanataka kupata faida huku na serikali nayo ikitaka kuokoa fedha nyingi ili kupata faida tokana na uwekezaji wake. Biashara haigombi. Hakuna ulazima wa serikali kuwapa kazi watu binafsi eti kwa vile wasiathirike kiuchumi. Kama wanataka kupata tenda basi watoe quotations zinazoingia akilini badala ya kuendekeza cha mbele.  Sidhani kama serikali itawanyima tenda wakati bei wanayotaka inalingana na thamani na matarajio ya miradi ambayo serikali inataka kuitekeleza bila kujali nani amepewa au kunyimwa tenda husika.
            Hata hivyo rais Magufuli alipingana na mawazo kuwa serikali ni adui wa wafanyabiashara kwa kusema  “tunajenga nchi na watu lazima waweke  uzalendo katika masuala haya ili nchi ipige hatua.”  Magufuli aliongeza kusema “choyo kwa kupata faida iliyopitiliza kutoka serikalini ndio ninachopinga na si kuwa adui wa wafanyabiashara ingawa inaonekana hivyo kwa watu wasio waaminifu.”
            Nadhani madai ya TPSF yanatokana na maozea ya kubebana ambayo yamelifikisha taifa hapa lilipo hasa ikizingatiwa kuwa tenda nyingi zilikuwa zikitolewa kwa rushwa huku thamani ya miradi ikiwa juu sana bila kulingana na kazi inayofanyika. Huu ni ufisadi uliolifikisha taifa hapa. Kimsingi, malalamiko ya TSFP ni ushahidi kuwa wengi wa watanzania hawajaelewa kasi ya rais Magufuli ya kuondoa mtindo wa mbovu na wa hovyo uliokuwa umejengeka kwenye kuhujumu taifa kwa faida ya kundi dogo la watu. Zama za mali ya umma haiumi nadhani zimekwisha. Laiti serikali ingewekeza hata kwenye nyumba za kupangisha za umma, nadhani wafanyakazi wengi wa serikali wasingeendelea kunyonywa na wenye nyumba binafsi huku nyumba nyingi za Msajili wa Majumba zikiendelea kukaliwa na tabaka moja la wenye fedha. Niliwahi kushauri serikali kuanzisha utaratibu wa kuwapa wafanyakazi wake nyumba za Msajili ili wafanyabiashara–ambao wengi wao wanaozikalia wana uwezo wa kujenga zao–wakajenge zao.
            Nani hajui kuwa hata wafanyabiashara, wengi wakiwa wa kihindi, ambao wanasemekana kuwa mabilionea wanaishi kwenye nyumba za Msajili huku walengwa wakiendelea kunyonywa na wenye nyumba binafsi, ukiachia mbali kuhangaika kulipa nauli kila uchao kwenda na kurudi makazini wakati nyumba zao zikifaidiwa na matajiri? Nadhani rais Magufuli anapaswa kuliona hili bila kusahau kurejesha nyumba za umma zilizotwaliwa na wakubwa wakati wa serikali ya awamu ya tatu.
            Tumalizie kwa kuwataka TPSF wajifunze kubadilika bila kusahau kukubali kuwa mambo yamebadilika. Japo binadamu mara nyingi hataki mabadiliko, yana tija pale yaliyolengwa kutimiza yanapotimia kama yalivyolengwa. Hivyo, si vibaya kusema kuwa TPSF wanamuonea Magufuli kwa kulaumu hatua zake za kuleta nafuu na huduma bora kwa wateja. Kama wanataka serikali ijiondoe kwenye biashara basi watoe huduma bora na kutoa quotations zinazoingia akilini badala ya kuigeza serikali shamba la bibi kama ilivyozoeleka chini ya awamu zilizopita ambapo watu walipewa tenda hata bila uwezo wa kuzikamilisha.

Njaa Inapopanda Kichwani PhD Hugeuka Bullshit

          Juzi wakati waheshimiwa wa mjengoni wakijadili bajeti, pamoja na ulevi wangu, niligundua kitu ambacho wengi hawajaona. Kama si jamaa yangu mmoja, tena aliyekuwa akionekana msomi wa kweli mwenye PhD ya sharia kama mimi kuonyesha ukihiyo wake tena hadhani kwenye njengo, nisingeandika haya. Jamaa ambaye ana bahati ya kuteuliwa kwenye kabineti kupitia viti vya dezo si ukafika wakati wa kuchangia bajeti ya wizara yake. Badala ya ongelee yaliyomo kwenye bajeti yake, akapaaza sauti tena kwa hasira baada ya dogo mmoja kumzodoa. Badala ya kuelezea wizara yake itakavyotenda haki kwa walevi hasa wanaosumbuliwa na kesi za kubambikiwa na ndata ukiachia  mbali kuchukua miaka kibao kuhukumiwa, jamaa alianza kumsifia malkia wa utashani utadhani kaya yetu bado ni koloni. Aliniacha hoi pale alipodai malkia ni taswira ya kaya ya utashani; hivyo na rahis wetu ni hivyo. Sidhani kama tunapaswa kuendelea na hekma za kikoloni kama hizi. Taswira ya kaya ni wana kaya wenyewe hata kama ni ombaomba na walevi. Sijui kama rahis mwenye kuvaa suti za bei kali huku akisafiria midude ya bei mbaya anaweza kuwa taswira ya kweli ya walevi waliopigika. Hapa lazima wasomi wetu wajifunze kuwa critical na siyo ku-bloviate na ku-pontificate mambo na kukariri kama kasuku.
            Hakuna jamaa aliponiacha hoi kama kulalia kwenye kitumbua chake kiasi cha kujigongagonga kwa waliompa ulaji akasahau kuwa wahishimiwa walikuwa wakijadili bajeti ya walevi wote.
