Is Religion Becoming Another Mental Slavery in Africa?

When I read about or watch clips on how some religious conmen and women maltreat our people, I don’t get it. What transpired recently in Uganda wherein a self-proclaimed pastor, Denis Kintu (42) was filmed canning some of his followers, speaks volumes.  At least, authorities acted after getting the wind of this brutality, criminality, and madness. I don’t cheer the authorities in Uganda for the arraignment of a brute-cum-conman Kintu. It’s their duty. I chide them for letting such criminals commit crimes under their noses. Authorities need to be watchful and active, otherwise, they aren’t supposed to be in power. However, they acted decisively when the clip in which this brute’s abusing, belittling, and terrorising innocent, ignorant, and underprivileged sinners surfaced in social media. Guess what? The ‘sin’ that caused such brutalities is just late coming to Kintu’s soul-vending yerd. What’ll God do if indeed, stinking sinners are sinfully judging less ‘sinners?’ Such chickenlike, desperate, and sheepish creatures undeservedly endured a lot of pains and shame.
When I saw the YouTube clip on WhatsApp wherein the so-called an apostle’s brazenly canning his followers, I couldn’t believe. I was deeply perturbed and sickened. The first nerve-wracking questions was: Has Africa, Uganda in particular become such useless? Why and what’ll I do to help my people? Is this belief or religion or criminality if not mental slavery? How many’ve already inaudibly and shamefacedly suffered and for how long? How much money have such ogres already acquired by robbing such sheep they’re now slaughtering? Some’d like to ask: Where’ve the authorities been while such abhorrible and horrible brutalities and criminalities were committed?  What difference does it make between faith cons and political cons? They all have fellowship and are legalised thanks to coloniality Africa inherited. Are the authorities in Uganda and other African countries ready to investigate this criminality and put a stop on it asap? African crooks are good copycats. This said, we need to ask ourselves. How many are still out there operating scot-free?
When I was growing up, priesthood was revered. Nobody’d self-appoint as it currently is whereby criminals and lazy people in thinking do so without being tasked as to why they don’t follow procedures among which is to be highly educated in philosophy and theology among others.  Why do we allow criminals to vend the ‘word of God’ pointlessly or even trust and follow them? Who’s to blame? Because of such collective imbecility, Africa’s many more churches than factories, hospitals, schools and other important facilities. How’s religion benefited us––––if we face it?
If they can allow him and the likes that are not ready unearthed to abuse and brutalise them, they too can allow them to rape, rob even sodomise them. So, the issue is bigger than we can imagine or see. How much money have such criminals already robbed from their gullible followers? How much would they pay as taxes had such money been made legally? Do we still have to exempt the so-called religious entities from paying taxes if at all those behind them are as wicked as this criminal though not all?
If their tormented followers can sheepishly make do with such assaults, brutality, and mortifications, they can also allow such criminals to pauperise even butchering them like one Paul Kibwetere of the infamous and chimeric Movement for the Restoration of the Ten Commandments of God–––who murdered his gullible followers–––once did. Why didn’t Africa and Uganda learn from Kibwetere’s psychosis? How can we help ourselves if we failed to learn from this idiot?  Do we need abroad-based sponsors to help us learn? Who bewitched us and our people who allow stupid criminals to abuse and exploit them while our governments watch as if it is not their duty to help them?
Again, if politicians can be deceived and defrauded by fortune tellers and magicians even religious conmen and women, how can they see what our brethren don’t see in faith criminals? Who’s to blame? How broken and desperate such creatures are? How brutal and stupid these conmen are? This is where naivety and sheepishness emanate. Those gullible and innocent creatures the conman and his stooges were heartless and shameless brutalising are like willing sheep being led to the abattoir by a brute or a hyena dressed in their rind. Has Africa, Uganda in particular, become this useless?
