Dual citizenship: Fear nothing but fear
Since President Jakaya Kikwete conceived the idea of writing a new constitution, some issues have become. Whether Tanzania must have a three-tier system or two, has dominated the whole exercise whereby Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) has clung onto two-tier system while the opposition, championed by Umoja wa Katiba ya Wananchi (UKAWA), has stood for a three-tier one.
Among things seem to have been forgotten or sabotaged, however, is whether Tanzanians should be allowed to have dual citizenship or not. Rulers seem to favour the later so as to lull diaspora into the trap that’ll extenuate their demands. Refer to the just concluded Diaspora Homecoming Conference in Dar recently that was fully attended by President Kikwete and PM Mizengo Pinda. Many’d like to know how these so-called representatives of diaspora that attended the Dar Conference were elected or appointed, when and under what category. It seems. Many of the so-called diaspora in attendance were CCM members-cum-sympathizers.
Again, are there any logical reasons in refuting dual citizenship? I, for one, do doubt. I see sheer fear and ignorance if not wariness and the like. Looking at how the govt’s caught cold feet, one finds that there are two illogical reasons offered by those opposing dual citizenship. Firstly, they argue that if Tanzanians are allowed to have dual citizenship there’ll be indivisible loyalty to the nation. Secondly, they argue that such a move will compromise our national security. All hogwash! How come that our neighbours such as Burundi and Rwanda have ratified the same? Tanzania is, and won’t be, the first country to allow dual citizenship. It is sheer ignorance and fear emboldened by wariness and wivu tu.
The advocates of indivisible loyalty are misleading. Instead of saying clearly that their reasons for opposing dual citizenship, among others, are fear and ignorance, they’re trying to make a big deal out of nothing. Why do rich and developed countries such as Australia, Canada, US and others allow paupers from Africa and Asia to have dual citizenship without the fear of the so-called indivisible loyalty?
Loyalty doesn't depend on the number of citizenship one’s but his or her personal integrity, choice and understanding. If a citizen’s corrupt whether has one or dual citizenship doesn't matter. Ironically, our public officers who receive kickbacks from aliens and bogus foreign investors don’t have dual citizenship. Why is it illegal for Tanzanians to have dual citizenship while foreigners do? Refer to Amir Habib Jamal, former minister for finance under Mwl Julius Nyerere and permanent representative in Geneva under Ali Hassan Mwinyi. Jamal had secretly had dual citizenship. His cover was blown after his death. He was bullied in Canada (his country). How many Jamals do we’ve and we know they've dual citizenship? Isn't this sheer fear and hypocrisy?
I don’t think that most of venal and corrupt African rulers such as Joseph Mobutu (Zaire), Sani Abacha (Nigeria), Omar Bongo (Gabon), Theodoro Nguema Obiang (Equatorial Guinea), Daniel arap Moi (Kenya), Fredrick Chiluba (Zambia) and others had or have dual citizenship. Thugs and thieves behind ESCROW, EPA, Radar and presidential jet scandals have dual citizenship. Criminals dealing with drugs and those who protect them have no dual citizenship. All those embezzling public funds, vending our people or those employing their children and relations have no dual citizenship. Bankrupt politicians and all those involved in tribalism, religion-ism, regionalism, sabotage, corruption and other vices don’t have dual citizenship. Do such people have indivisible loyalty really? All those felling our education, economy, resources and whatnot don’t have dual citizenship.
If Tanzanians are afforded the chance to choose between single and dual citizenship chances are many’ll opt foreign citizenship thanks to affording them opportunities and means of realizing their dreams. If we face it, what good does Tanzanian citizenship have compared to foreign citizenship? It has reached a point whereby Tanzanians to secure visa to enter some African countries such as Botswana, South African and others countries with good economies is next to never. When it comes to rich countries it is a whole new ball game. Again, who’s caused all this nervousness if not those shouting at the top of their lungs against dual citizenship? Haven’t authorities been in bed with, say, drug dealers, saboteurs, self-serving criminal you name it could we've reached this tipping point? How can you tell the guy who’s born in Tanzania to surrender his God-given right simply because you’re not happy with his or her move to take another country’s citizenship? How can you treat others just like wendigoes simply because they've decided to have dual citizenship?
Off the cuffs: Why do we turn a blind eye to Zenjis who've dual citizenship among us? Suffices it to say, what makes Tanzania hesitant regarding dual citizenship is nothing but sheer fear and ignorance.

Mlevi aenda Bondeni kumpa tafu Maleema
Juzi mlevi alikuwa amealikwa na chata la Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) la Julius Maleema aka Juju ili kushuhudia akimtia adabu mzee Jake Xuma, dingi wa Bondeni mbele ya umma wa wasauzi na dunia nzima. Timing yao ilikuwa poa kinoma! Mlevi, kwa vile ni mtu wa zali, hakujivunga. Alishirikiana vilivyo na waheshimiwa wa EFF kuzomea bwana kuba bila kujali kuwa ni rahisi.
Kwa magenge twawala yaliyozoea kujiona vijogoo yajue. There are new kids on the block. Kwa tulioshuhudia mzee Mzima Xuma akigalagazwa na mtoto aliyemtengeneza mwenye, Maleema, watakubaliana nasi kuwa murume amekutana na saizi yake. Baada ya Xuma kumtumia Maleema kumpoka madaraka rahisi wa zamani mzee Taabu Mvuyelwaa M-beki tena kwa aibu alikosea. Alidhani yalikuwa yamekwisha asijue ukipanda mbigiri unavuna hiyo hiyo na aishiye kwa upanga lazima afe kwao. Sasa mzee Mbeki yuko anachekelea tena baada ya kuombwa msamaha rasmi na Maleema mnamo Aprili mwaka huu.
Hakuna kitu kilichomuumiza, kumuaibisha na kumnyima usingizi Xuma kama zomea zomea ya EFF wakipiga kelele, we want our money back yaani tunataka urejeshe uchache wetu. Walikuwa wakimshinikiza kulipa Rand (haya ni madafu ya Sauzi) milioni 200 zilizotumika kuboresha makazi yake binafsi kule kijijini kwake Nkandla Kwazulu-Natal. Xuma alisononeka na kuondoka mjengoni kimya baada ya spika Mbeleka Mbwete kutishia kuleta polisi wa kuzuia ghasia asifanye hivyo baada ya tishio lake kutofua dafu.
Waishiwa wa ANC walijiribu bila mafanikio kuingilia hoja za EFF. Kila mbinu ya kuwahujumu EFF ilifanyika bila mafanikio. Hatimaye, baada ya maji kuzudi unga, Mbwete, yaani Makindamakida wa Sauzi, alibwaga manyanga na kuamua kuahirisha kigwena huku Xuma akiondoka kimya kimya akiinamisha kichwa kwa ghadhabu na aibu. Ni pigo si mchezo mwanangu. Hata nilipokwenda kumpa pole Xuma alikataa kupokea mkono wangu wakati sisi ni mabeste ile mbaya.
Kitendo cha kuahirisha kikao kati kati ya kipindi cha mkuu kujibu maswali ya waishiwa, licha ya kuwa pigo kwa Xuma na chata lake la Afrikan National Congress (ANC) ni aibu na pigo kubwa tu. Kimsingi, Xuma alistahiki alichotendewa. Kwani, wakati ule Maleema akiwa dingi wa Umoja wa Vichipukizi wa ANC alimshushia matusi mazito M-beki huku Xuma na wenzake wakichekelea wakingojea kupoka madaraka wasijue historia ina tabia ya kujirudia. Sasa ni zamu yao. Wanaanza kulalamika wakati walimtengeneza Maleema wenyewe kwa uchoyo na upogo wao. Tuachane na ya Malema na Xuma.
Si uzushi. Bongo inahitaji Maleema wake baada ya wapingaji waliopo kuwa kondoo wazuri ukiachia mara moja moja kujifaragua chini ya Umoja wa Kondoo wa Kaya (UKAWA). Ukiangalia jinsi Chama Cha Maulaji na Malazimishi (CCMM) kinavyoburuza Kaya huku kikijifanyia mambo ya hovyo kitakavyo, tunahitaji Malema wetu. Zamani tulikuwa naye Chris Mtikisa aliyetikisa hadi nyasi. Hatujui kilichompata gwiji huyu wa siasa za kukabiliana kwa maneno makali na bila woga.
Ukiangalia jinsi, kwa mfano, njuluku yetu inavyoibiwa kwa kulipana kwa mambo ya kijinga kama Mjengo wa Mauaji ya Katiba (MMK) uliogomewa na UKAWA, unatamani Maleema angezaliwa au kutengenezwa Bongo lau arejeshe kuheshimiana na kuthaminiana miongoni mwa walaji wetu. Haiwezekani genge moja litugeuze mateka na majuha kwa kutuletea kila upuuzi na asitokee Maleema.
Je Maleema wetu atazaliwa au kutengenezwa lini iwapo wale ambao tulitarajia wangefanya kazi hii wamo kitandani na watesi wetu? Vijana wa Bongo mko wapi? Je hamuoni huu uhuni na jinai mnazotendewa? Wezi wanalipana laki tatu kwa siku bila kufanya lolote zaidi ya kupotosha Kaya nanyi mnaangalia tu! Mbona huko nyuma hamkuwa hivyo?
Mmeingiliwa na nini Yarabi? Hivi hizi laki tatu wanazopeana zingeweza kusomesha au kutibia vitegemezi vya walevi vingapi? Je zingewezesha kupeleka maji kwenye vijiji vingapi vya walevi? Je zingewezesha kujenga barabara kilometa ngapi ili walevi wagongwe vizuri na wenye mashangingi yao yatokanayo na kuwaibia? Hayo ndiyo maswali magumu na muhimu mnayopaswa kujiuliza wakati huu ambapo Kaya iko msalabani likisulubiwa na wezi wasio na uoni wala visheni.
Tunataka Maleema atakayemshikisha adabu mkuu ambaye hujifanyia mambo tena ya hovyo na kuchefua atakavyo kana kwamba yeye ndiye papa pekee baharini. Tunataka Maleema atakayehoji matumizi ya Nkandla yetu yaani safari zisizoisha ughaibuni za Vasco da Gama wetu, tenda feki, manunuzi ya kutia shaka, utoro maofisini hasa unaofanywa na mawaziri kama ilivyogundulika juzi juzi wakati wa kutafuta kukamilisha akidi ya kupitishia katiba yao ya mizengwe wanayoita Katiba mpya wakati si chochote wala lolote bali sanaa na uhujumu kwa Kaya na vitegemezi vijavyo. Tunataka Maleema wa walevi sasa hivi.
Uko wapi Maleema wetu? Uko wapi tukufuate na kukuunga mkono hata kama una ugomvi wako wa asili na wenzio? Hilo halituhusu. Heri kukutumia kwanza na baada ya kumalizana nao tunaweza kujipanga upya na kujua ipi mbivu na mbovu hata mbichi.

MALEMA: IS ZUMA REAPING WHAT HE SOWED?
What’s
evidenced before South African Parliament speaks volume on how President Jacob
Zuma’s past keeps on hauntingly following him. As he’s recently answering some questions during a
special session in the parliament, Julius Malema, chair of Economic
Freedom Fighters (EFF), took on him asking him to pay back the money that’s
spent on upgrading Zuma’s homestead famously known as Nkandla Scandal.
Their political vendetta’s obvious so as to force the speaker of the
parliament, Beleka Mbete, to threaten to bring riot police in. Despite Mbete’s
threat, EFF stood their ground and saw the session being adjourned due to the
noises of “pay back our money” that stole thunder. EFF wanted Zuma to repay
R200million that was spent on his home in Nkandla KwaZulu-Natal
Malema’s move shocked many especially given that he’s the
one who walled Zuma during his charges of corruption before the duo fell out.
Zuma used Malema to tumble former president, Thabo Mbeki, in what’s regarded as
loutish way. When Malema’s hauling all sorts of salvos and insults on Mbeki,
Zuma and ANC were just laughing. Now that Malema’s turned tables against Zuma and ANC,
will they stay aside and look as they laugh their hearts out as it was when a
senior leader like Mbeki was humiliated?
Those who know how Zuma used Malema to ouster Mbeki unceremoniously will
agree with us that the same Malema wants to do it again against his mentor and
maker. A few weeks before Mbeki’s toppled under what African National Congress
(ANC) called recall, Malema's quotes as saying, “Mbeki must leave now and
Zuma should become president. The only way to solve that problem is to have an
early election.” Malema’s words weren't in vain. He added, "Whether they like it or not,
we're not going to leave Jacob Zuma here in court but we are going to carry him
all the way to the Union Buildings.” For, after a week, Mbeki was kicked
out. Later Zuma's elected president and sworn in at the Union Buildings.
After getting what he wanted, grabbing power from Mbeki, Zuma wanted to get rid of
Malema. Sooner than later, Malema's charged with tax evasion and other
economic related offences which he's still facing. Thereafter, Malema's sacked from ANC and lost his lucrative position of the president of ANC
youth wing. Looking at how things were unfolding and knowing who's
behind, it didn’t take long before Malema realizing that he made a terrible,
mistake to be used by Zuma to ouster Mbeki. He hit back by forming his
EFF which has given Zuma hard time especially after securing good-sized victory
in the just ended general elections.
Zuma-Malema marriage hit rock bottom and the duo’s now sworn
enemies. Malema's recently quoted as saying, “We are in a mess because
we did not listen to the silent communication from president Mbeki that you are
removing me and replacing me with nothing.” Malema’s refuting his allegation
that ANC was in quandary because of Mbeki whom he once accused saying, “We are
in this trouble because of Thabo Mbeki and his people. This problem was started
by Mbeki.” Now we can see that Mbeki wasn’t the cause of troubles South Africa
was in while Zuma is according to Malema. After realizing his mistake of being
used, Malema went as far as issuing an apology to president Mbeki by meeting
his late mother Epainette Mbeki in April 2014 shortly before her demise saying,
“I took an opportunity to also apologise to her about how we ill-treated her
child.”
Biblical parable has “Live by the sword, die of the sword. Is the sword, namely Malema, that Zuma used to kill Mbeki turning against
him? Will the sword really kill Zuma? What transpired in the Parliament
recently whereby EFF’s MPs jeered at Zuma might be something to note. The
difference's however that Zuma can’t go down in the same manner Mbeki did
given that Malema’s no longer either the member of ANC or its youth wing
president. Again, is there any extra force using Malema to want to bring Zuma
down the same way he did Mbeki? Is Zuma reaping what he sowed?

Njama za kumuua Slaa: Ni zaidi ya Masele
Taarifa za kuchukiza na kutisha kuwa kada wa Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) mbunge wa Shinyanga Mjini na Waziri mdogo (Nishati na Madini) Steven Masele pamoja na wenzake, walipanga na kuratibu mpango mchafu wa kuwaua Katibu mkuu wa Chama cha Demokrasia na Maendeleo (CHADEMA), Dk Wilbroad Slaa na Mkurungenzi wa Mawasiliano na Uhusiano, mbunge wa Ubungo, John Mnyika zinaiweka CCM pabaya. Je Masele ni nani? Je yuko peke yake katika ugaidi huu unaoonekana kupangwa na watu wengi zaidi yake? Je atachukuliwa hatua au kufumbiwa macho kama mwenzake, Mbunge wa Iramba na Waziri mdogo wa Fedha, Mwigulu Nchemba, aliyetuhumiwa kwa vitendo vya kigaidi akapandishwa cheo? Je imeishia wapi kesi ya kubambikizwa ya mkurugenzi wa usalama wa CHADEMA, Wilfred Rwakatare? Si wameuia kimya kimya baada ya mbinu zao za kigaidi kufichuliwa? Je watanzania wataendelea kujiruhusu kutawaliwa na chama kilichoishiwa kiasi cha kujigeuza kundi la kigaidi? Je njama kama hii ingeelekezwa kwa Katibu mkuu wa CCM Abdulrahaman Kinana na Katibu wa Itikadi na Uenezi, Nape Nnauye serikali ingeendelea kujifanya hamnazo wala haijui kitu? Mbona tunatumia sheria kihuni na kibaguzi hivi?
Diwani wa kata ya Ngokolo mjini Shinyanga, Sebastian Peter alifichua kuwa waliahidiwa mamilioni ya fedha kutekeleza mauaji ya wawili tajwa walipokuwa Shinyanga kikazi mwezi Februari. Peter alikaririwa akisema, “Baada ya maongezi ya aina mbali mbali na Mchange tulishindwa kupata muafaka lakini tuliendelea kuwasiliana na aliporudi Shinyanga akatueleza kuwa kuna mpango mzuri wa fedha na kwamba utasimamiwa na Waziri Masele na kwamba tutapata sh. milioni 180 kila mmoja.” Hivi kweli kuna ushahidi zaidi ya huu kupaswa kumfungulia mashtaka Masele na wenzake? Kama huu ni uzushi mbona mtuhumiwa haendi mahakamani kusafisha jina lake? Peter anaendelea, “Mkakati huo ulianza kuratibiwa na Mwenyekiti wa UVCCM, Abbakari Gulam ambaye ni mtoto wa Meya wa Shinyanga, wakiwa na Habib Mchange, kisha tuliona mkakati unatekelezwa na mbunge wa Shinyanga mjini, Stephen Masele, Nape Nauye, Januari Makamba, Mwigulu Nchemba na Ridhiwani Kikwete.”
Kwanza, ni aibu kwa mbunge, anayepaswa kuwa mfano wa jamii, kugeuka gaidi. Pia ni aibu kwa serikali kutochukua hatua stahiki. Kitendo cha Masele kushiriki ugaidi na uvunjaji wa sheria licha ya kumuaibisha kama mwakilishi wa wananchi, kinawaibisha na kuwadhalilisha wale waliomwamini uwakilishi. Pia, kwa nafasi yake, Masele alipaswa abanwe aachie ngazi kwa vile ameaibisha kazi ya ubunge na bunge kwa ujumla. Mbunge anayeweza kupanga kutekeleza ugaidi hapaswi kuendelea kuwa bungeni wala uraiani bali gerezani akingojea kesi yake kusikilizwa na kutolewa hukumu. Kunajengeka dhana kuwa Masele alitumwa na wenye serikali inayomilki taasisi na vyombo vyote, hatachukuliwa hatua. Ndiyo maana mamlaka hazimchukulii hatua. Je kweli Tanzania inafaa kuendelea kutawaliwa na chama na serikali na watu wanaoweza kudiriki kutenda ugaidi halafu wakaendelea kulindana?
Pili, kwa wanaojua uhusiano baina ya Masele na mtoto wa kigogo mkubwa wa CCM ambaye pia ni kigogo wa serikali, hawashangazwi na hisia kuwa anatumiwa tu na mtandao mkubwa. Wengi wanajua kuwa, pamoja na udhaifu wake kitaaluma, Masele aliteuliwa kwenye nafasi aliyo nayo kutokana na ukaribu wake na mtoto wa kigogo huyu ambaye ana ushawishi mkubwa katika masuala mengi yanayohusiana na mamlaka ya baba yake. Pia kwa wanaojua makundi ya kigaidi yanavyofanya kazi, Masele hawezi kuwa peke yake. Lazima kuna watu wakubwa na makundi makubwa yaliyomtuma kupanga njama hizi. Huenda ndiyo maana akapigiwa kampeni na kuteuliwa uwaziri wakati hana sifa. Walimuopoa mapema wakijua wanavyoweza kumtumia wakati ukitimu.
Tatu, siasa za kichovu, kikatili na kuishiwa sera tulizoea kuzisikia na kuzishuhudia kwa majirani zetu hasa Kenya ambapo chama tawala cha wakati ule kiliwaua makada wake wengi kiliodhania walikuwa tishio kwa ulaji wa bwana mkubwa. Pia, tulizoea kusikia watoto wa watawala wa huko nao wakijigeuza watawala tusijue yatafika hata kwetu. Je imekuwaje tumefika hapa? Bila shaka, ni matokeo ya ufisadi na siasa za kifisi ambapo kila mwenye kupata madaraka huyatumia vibaya kuibia umma na kujitajirisha kiasi cha wasaka tonge kuwa tayari kuua watu wasio na hatia ilmradi wapate madaraka ambayo ni hati ya kuibia umma kwao. Hivyo, si ajabu kushuhudia magaidi, majambazi hata wauza mihadarati wakijitokeza kutumia fedha zao zitokanazo na jinai yao kusaka nafasi za kisiasa na kuendeleza jinai yao bila kuguswa wala kuzuiliwa hata kama ni kwa kuua wenzao.
Nne, wahanga wa mpango huu mchafu na CHADEMA wanapaswa kuomba vyombo vya kimataifa vinavyoshughulikia ugaidi kuingilia kati kwa sababu mamlaka za Tanzania haziwezi kufanya hivyo kutokana na kutekwa na CCM.
Tano, watanzania wajulishwe kupitia mikutano mbali mbali aina ya utawala unaoanza kujengeka chini ya CCM ambayo imeamua, kwa tamaa ya madaraka, kujigeuza kuwa kundi la kigaidi. Chama kilichofikia kiwango hiki hakipaswi kuendelea kuvumiliwa kuwa madarakani. Kuna haja ya kuwahakikisha taasisi za kimataifa zinazoshughulikia ugaidi zinajulishwa angalau zitoe maelekezo hata maoni yake.
Sita, walengwa wasijue yamekwisha. Wanapaswa kuchukua hatua madhubuti na tahadhari vya hali ya juu kwa vile kilichowasukuma CCM kutaka kuwaua bado kipo pale hasa ikizingatiwa kuwa CHADEMA ndiyo tishio lao. CCM iko tayari kufanya lolote liwe haramu au halali kuhakikisha inabakia madarakani ikifanya ufisadi na ugaidi wake kama kawaida. Hili halivumiliki. Upinzani unapaswa kulichukulia tishio hili kwa uzito unaostahili.
Saba, kwa upande wake, licha ya kushinikiza Masele na genge lake la kigaidi lishitakiwe, kuna haja ya kumbana rais kuhakikisha anamwajibisha ili iwe rahisi kumshughulikia kisheria.
Tumalizie kwa kulaani mchezo huu mchafu ambao kama hautazuiliwa kwa nguvu ya umma unaweza kulitumbikiza taifa kwenye machafuko na mauaji ambayo yangeweza kuzuilika. Wakati wa kuzuia zahama hii ni sasa.

Kijiwe kwenda kufunga bunge la Katiba
Baaada ya wasaka tonge wakubwa na wadogo kujifanya kuwa hawana uwezo wa kusitisha Bunge Maalum la Katiba (BMK) lakini bado wakawa na mshipa wa kutuibia kwa kujilipa laki tatu kwa siku kwa kuharibu kila kitu, Kijiwe kimedhamiria kuwakomboa wachovu kwa kulifunga bunge husika. Nani anataka bunge-duka la wasaka tonge na wachumia tumbo kujitajirishana huku tukiendelea kusikinishwa?
Leo ni Msomi Mkatatamaa analianzisha. Anavuta kombe lake la tangawizi na kubwia kidogo na kuzoza, “Waheshimiwa, hali ilivyo ni kwamba tunaendelea kuibiwa na wasaka tonge na wachumia tumbo kwa kisingizio cha kuandika Katiba Mpya ambayo si mpya kitu bali mizengwe ya Chama Cha Mafisadi (CCM). Je mna mawazo gani kuhusiana na kuzuia wizi huu wa mchana uliofichwa kwenye mchakato?”
Mijjinga anadaikia hoja na kusema, “Yaani vipande thelathini vinaangamiza Kaya yetu kirahisi hivi! Je tutamlaumu nani iwapo tuna uwezo wa kuzuia jinai hii kwa kushinikiza kigwena hiki cha ulaji na wizi wa njuluku zetu kisitishwe mara moja?”
“Tiende Dodomya tikawatie adabu na kuwadai uchache wetu wanaopeana wakijua fika wanafanya utoto na Katiba haitapatikana. Haiwezekani tiendeee kuwa mashahidi wa maangamizi yetu. Je mnasemaje wakubwa?”
Mipawa anadakia na kusema, “Mlisikia ya Njaa Kaya kujifanya kuwa hana uwezo wa kuvunja hili buge la ubuge ubuge wa laki tatu zinazoangamisha kaya yetu?"

Mbwa Mwitu aliyekuwa akinong’ona jambo na mzee Maneno anakula mic, “Kanji unamdanganya nani? Kwani hiyo Katiba ni mali ya kuu au mali ya lalahoi yote? Sofi anasema tumpongeze. Loo! Tumpongeze kwa ujinga na kutuhujumu siyo au anataka tumpe tuzo ya kuhujumu Katiba?”
Mgosi Machungi hangoji Mbwamwitu amalizie, “Kaka imeongea kitu muhimu sana. Hatiwezi kumpongeza kwa ujinga na hujuma kama hii ya kutiibia njuuku. Kama akitaka pongezi aende huko kwenye genge lake wanakopongezana kwa kia upuuzi au awambie waniigeia wampe nyingine.”
Mpemba anakamua tena, “Mie naona tuache kulalamika ati. Twende kule Dodomya kama alivosema Ngosi tukaukate nzizi wa fitina ati.sijui mwasemaje?”
Msomi anamjibu Ami haraka haraka, “Hapa kaka umenena. Tuache kulalamika. Badala yake twende kule tukawatie adabu. Maana hii pesa wanayozawadiana kupitisha ujinga ni mali yetu na si yao. Na hata hiyo Katiba ni mali yetu. Tangu lini punda akahofia kutua mzigo?”

With awe and happiness I read the story of Ghanaian genius who has been ignored yet he still fights to survive Apostle Dr Kwadwo Safo. The man has really defied all odds as far as engineering and invention are concerned. Imagine. The guy who can invent a lot of stuff that seem to be ahead of time, far ahead of America, Asia and Europe of course. The day First ladies showed Africa's wealth

Africa might be referred to as a poor continent. Again, this is not the whole story of Africa whose first ladies recently, at the US-Africa summit, proved those thinking Africa is poor very wrong.
One paper had this to write after seeing how lavish, stylish and chic our first ladies are, “From high hair to status handbags, Africa’s first ladies use fashion to talk about the past and the future.” While their hubbies were talking about poverty and the way to make it history in Africa, their wives were displaying the goodies of sharing the bed with the presidents. They all wore expensive attires not to mention expensive handbags which the Washington Post described as thus, “If all those bags were authentic, there was at least $20,000 worth of internationally-recognized status on display in the form of satchels and shoppers.” Ironically, despite showing their fashionista savviness, their host Michelle Obama took a different approach. Instead of showing the might and pomp of the richest country on earth, she dressed a simple dress. What’s more, Obama chose a dress that was not even designed in Africa. The Washington Post had this to say, “Obama did not choose a dress created by an African-born designer.”
In a sense, for not choosing a dress created by an African-born designer Obama dead right. She opted for Nepal’s Prabal Gurung design. She truly showed the true taste of our first ladies as far as foreign fashion is concerned. Just like their hubbies, African first ladies like wearing expensive dresses designed in Paris, London, Washington and elsewhere but not Africa. The difference however is that Obama didn't like extravagance especially when it is done by the wives of presidents whose countries are renowned for begging chronic behaviour. Good news is that begging for their hubbies doesn't concerned first ladies who are firstly served by public coffers. You see. American journalists who don’t know Africa well were dumbfounded to find that a first lady can carry a $ 20,000 worth handbag. If anything, a twenty-grand handbag is the cheapest thing for our first ladies. If you count their bracelets, rings, trinkets, bijoux and other bling- bling they don on, surely you’ll die of shock. So for African first ladies to showcase their hardware’s something Africa should pride herself for. These first ladies and their families live in a paradise. However, it is surrounded by a sea of stinking poverty. Is it their business to care? If they do, they care about their yum-yum and high life.
First lady Bird Johnson (1912 - 2007) once said, “The First Lady is an unpaid public servant elected by one person - her husband.” This was then and it was in America. In Africa, first ladies are paid and they've a lot of power. Their husbands’ powers are theirs too. Once one shares a bed with the president, too, she’s to share his power. This is why first ladies decided to show the big man syndrome by displaying big lady syndrome in spending public monies. Sharing the bedroom with the big man makes them big too. They know the weakness of strong men so do their strength of weak men.
Essentially, African power’s built on trinity that revolves around Father or president, Son and First lady who acts as the gory ghost as far as spending’s concerned. There is an exception to every general rule. Guess what. East Africa lagged behind in this show of financial muscles, pomp, glamour and extravagance. The presidents of Kenya, South Sudan and Uganda didn't bring their wives with them to showcase their mighty. Rwandan president’s accompanied by his eye-catching daughter Ange who stole the show. Again, there were all sorts of first ladies, the fat, scraggy, gorgeous, illiterates, literates and whatnot. Apart from Nigerian Goodluck Johnson whose Patience wasn't seen at this extravaganza bonanza, every gentleman’s in an expensive suit, more expensive than the one Obama was in.
Ironically, while all this was going on, many Africans were dying from preventable diseases whose expenses are nothing compared to those their rulers incur on their coffers. Who care if at all power in African is about showing how powerful and expensive one is? In Africa, the powerful have more right than the powerless. Whatever they do is unquestionable. Otherwise, Africans would have been able to question all this pomp and extravagance whose bill they foot. Who told you that Africa is poor? For the rightest answer just ask or remind yourself of African First ladies at the US-Africa Conference that's just concluded in Washington recently where their hubbies were begging and kow tow for aids and monies to abuse and stash.

The Day Nape took on Warioba to end up chastened
Looking at dog eat dog Chama cha Maulaji (CcM) is in regarding the Draft Constitution, top dogs are likely to use whatever means to get away with it especially undermining underdogs who of recently seem to be a very big threat dogging their ulaji. To do so, all types of dogs are at work. Lap dogs are singing praise for top dogs while barking dogs are doing the noise making stuff to undermine underdogs. When it comes to watch dogs, just like underdogs, are saying loudly that things are not well. Love me love my dog everybody’s saying.
Nnape Mapepe Nnauyee the chief spin doctor of CcM recently put on a dog as he belligerently officiated mipasho phase especially by pointlessly taking on Judge Jose Waryuba former head of Constitution Review Commission (CRC) and his crew. Like a blind dog in a meat market, after being unleashed by his masters, Nnape took a swipe on Waryuba saying that he’s eaten from two tier regime and had his gut full. Instead of discussing the document CRC presented, Nnape and the likes are discussing people. Is this the sign of bankruptcy and impotence or the sign of throwing the towel in?
Mapepe alleged that Warioba’s turned the tables against the same hand that used to feed him. If anything, something like this shouldn’t happen to a dog. Why allowing a barking dog to rain insults cats and dogs in the first place. Though Nnape and his handlers can pride themselves that they’ve succeeded to bloody Waryuba, they’d have stood in bed. Disinterested and sane people will defend this noble doyen. It is sad to note that abusing Waryuba’s become another policy for sick and mad politicos.
Getting away from dog rigmaroles and analogue, let’s dig into what transpired recently. If there’s sacrilegious sin Waryuba committed for some bigwigs is nothing but to refuse to be used like a tool in someone’s hands. In a simple parlance, Waryuba refused to do dirty laundry for CcM something Nnape and Kinanae are now doing at their future peril shall things change. The guys are singing the old song trying to makes us believe that it is a new one. They are spitting in the wind thinking they can get away with it.
Nnape became famous for just wrong reasons. Who knows that barking role would make a person famous? He came to the limelight when he took on Gambas in Eddie Ewassa and Endelea Chenge. He swore by land and heavens that he’d see to it that the two pillar of corruption are felled. To his dismay, his master made an abrupt U-turn and sided with the barks aka magamba. Dog-tired, Nnape had to eat humble pie and nurse the wrongs he sustained in this enmeshment. Sane minds thought that this would become the end for Nnape to be used just like a toilet paper. Nay, they’re wrong. Before long, he took on ministers he just called them burdens in the govt of his boss who happened to use and dump him as pleased. Once again, he was offering his offal services. What Nnape thought would be easy meat ended up becoming a hard nut to crack especially for a wino like him. When Nnape’s boss ignored him, many thought he’d call it a day and hit the road. But he didn't. Instead, he became a burden himself after many questioned if Nnape’s move and utterances came from his heart of hearts. For a charlatan whose reward is a morsel and a pat on the back, how damaging his chatters are doesn't matter. However, such predicament becomes worse especially when the one behind it is referred as an educated person. Is he truly educated or he is just one of many forgers we evidence parting on our tax under the pretext of being top dogs in the party.
Looking at Nnape’s rumpuses one asks: when will he get it right? Again, given that Nnape's the product of a rotten system that rewards the children of bigwigs, Nnape’s nothing to worry or care about. Like Riz Kiquette, Adam Mmalima, Goddie Mggimwa, Husssein Mwinyi, Jan Makkamba, Emmy Ncchimbi and many more who hit the jackpot simply because they’re the children of the high and the mighty Nnape’ll make more noises to see to it that their empire won’t cascade down.
Whether Nnape’s an elite or a quack, nothing’ll deter him given that there are many more alleged to have forged their academic credentials and still are appointed to high offices. Have you forgotten the chief forgers in the ranks such as Bill Lukkuvi, Emmy Ncchimbi, Marry Naggu, Makorongo Muhanga, Dolorous Kamala and many more unearthed? Criminality does pay in this hunk. Who’d think that a chap like Kinamna would be appointed chief of establishment even after he’s linked with poaching? Falsification constitutes a crime only if it is committed by normal hoi polloi. For biggies, forgery’s nary sent anybody parking or to prison. This is why there are some shady characters pertaining to be educated while they actually are not. And this doesn't raise eyebrows for the authorities! Who’ll take on who if all do the same biz though in a different fashion?

Je inakuwaje wapuuzi wanatangaza urongo kama vile kuongea na majini, kutibu ukimwi, kutengeneza nyota za utajiri wakati wao ni kapuku na umma haustuki? Je kaya ya namna hii si kaya ya mataahira, vichaa na wahalifu?
Ningekuwa mkuu mtu akatangaza kuwa anatibu ukimwi basi ningetoa amri akamatwe na kuambukizwa ukimwi ili ajitibu tujiridhishe. Hawa wanaotangaza kutengeneza nyota za utajiri ningewalazimisha wazitengeneze ili kaya yetu iachane na uombaomba na kopakopa na udhalilishaji tunaoshuhudia kila siku ambapo mkuu amegeuka kiguu na njia kofia mkononi akiomba hata akivaa suti ya bei mbaya namna gani.
Tumalizie kwa kuwaonya wachovu kuacha uchovu na bangi kiasi cha kugeuzwa shamba la chizi na majambazi na matapeli wanaojifanya wanahubiri dini wakati ukweli ni kwamba wanahubiri duni.
Mshikwe wapi ndipo mgutuke? Kwanini mnajirahisi kuliwa mkiona na kila tapeli kuanzia wale wa barabarani, mahospitalini hadi kwenye siasa na sasa kwenye dini? Ogopeni siku ya siku mtachomwa kama kuni kutokana na ujuha na ujinga wenu. Enyi wanakaya wapumbavu, nani aliyewaroga ambao kila kitu kiliwekwa wazi machoni penu kuwa hawa si viongozi wa dini kitu bali duni na dunia gunia? Tieni akilini kabla hasira za baba hazijawashukia.
